The inquest was opened with an acknowledgement of country by Yorta Yorta Elder Uncle Colin Walker. Uncle Colin poured sand from Dhungalla/ the Murray River on the bench to explain where Aunty Tanya Day commonly found rest and how she was denied such rest prior to her death.

Next Wednesday 21 August, more than 12 families and our supporters will march from Sydney Town Hall to NSW Parliament house at 12.30pm to protest the murders of our loved ones, and demand action from the NSW Justice Department. We are fighting a battle that has been waged since Invasion in 1788.
